Undefeated, B Team Takes First in Georgia

The B Team went undefeated on their way to a first place finish at last weekend's Ramblin' Wreck Invitational in Atlanta, GA.

Taking all of the two ballots in each of their rounds versus Middle Tennessee State University, Stetson, the University of South Carolina and the University of Florida, the B Team would finish with a point differential of +142 points. Six of the eight ballots MMT won were won by double digits and, in one round, Miami would take both ballots by 32 and 33 points respectively - an astonishingly large margin of victory.

"We've been on our game all year long," said sophomore attorney John Spear. "This tournament gives us the momentum we needed going into Regionals."

First year Samantha Hobbs was named as an outstanding witness. This is Ms. Hobbs' first ever award as apart of MMT.

"It felt great to be able to contribute to the team," sad Ms. Hobbs. "Knowing I did my part and that we were able to bring home first place means a lot."

The B Team, led by coaches Lawrence Hilton and Melissa Schuett, has been dominant all year long. It was the squad's second first place performance of the season, having also won Illinois State's tournament last November. The B Team moves to 22-4-3 on the season and will compete next in Cincinnati, OH at the February 21-23 AMTA Regional. If the team earns a bid in Cincinnati they will advance to the Hamilton, OH Championship Series where they will look to qualify for Nationals.

The tournament was hosted by Georgia Tech.
